Benefits of membership in the Austin FSC
Exceptions to benefits may apply, for a more detailed description please read the "Membership Categories" page of the AFSC membership application.
- Voting member of Austin figure Skating Club and eligible to be a member of the board of directors (except Junior, Bridge, Basic Skills, Patron or Special Olympic memberships)
- Opportunity to skate on club ice sessions at no extra cost.
- Opportunity to take U.S. Figure Skating tests at a reduced price.
- Opportunity through the U.S. Figure Skating test structure, for skaters to obtain the skills required in order to join a U.S. Synchronized Skating Team, a professional ice show or a "Theatre on Ice" team.
- Opportunity for skaters to learn about the Professional Skaters Association (PSA) from one of our PSA rated coaches, including the educational requirements needed to teach each level of competitive skating.
- Opportunity for qualified skaters to compete in the U.S. National Showcase competition, the U.S. Adult Figure Skating Championships and the U.S. Collegiate Championships.
- Opportunity for skaters to progress through the qualifying competition structure, leading up to the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, World Championships, World Synchronized Championships, the Olympics and other international competitions.
- Opportunity for Juvenile and Intermediate level skaters to qualify for the U.S. Junior Championships.
- Opportunity for all Juvenile, Intermediate and Novice level skaters to participate in the "Future Champions Series" of non-qualifying competitions.
- U.S. Figure Skating test medals, pins and/or patches provided by the club free of charge to successful skaters (does not include Associate members.)
- Certificates for tests passed are awarded to skaters by U.S. Figure Skating.
- U.S. Figure Skating rulebook & directory (free for new members, first year only)
- Opportunity to purchase the rulebook/directory at a reduced cost.
- Participation in U.S. Figure Skating competitions, shows, seminars etc.
- Participation in the "Big Skater, Little Skater" program.
- Subscription to "Skating" the official magazine of U.S. Figure Skating.
- Opportunity to participate in special club Exhibitions. These exhibitions give skaters the chance to perform their competitive programs in preparation for the Southwestern Regional Championships, the U.S. Adult Championships and/or Skate Dallas etc.
- Opportunity to have a program critiqued by a U.S. Figure Skating Judge (upon the request of a skater and their coach)
- Opportunity for qualified skaters to begin "trial" judging as early as 16 years of age. This affords interested skaters the chance to obtain a U.S. Figure Skating Judge appointment.
- Opportunity for adult members to learn about the accounting systems for competitions, used by U.S. Figure Skating and for those interested, to work towards obtaining a U.S. Figure Skating Accountant/Technical Accountant appointment.
- Opportunity for qualified skaters/judges/coaches to earn an appointment as an IJS technical panel member for competitions that are using the International Judging System (IJS)

Bridge membership: $75 skater & sponsor ($25 for each additional skater)
Basic Skills membership: $25 skater & sponsor ($25 for each additional skater)

** A parent/guardian/adult family member must join as a sponsor if the skater is under the age of 18 and must use the same address as the skater (for U.S. Figure Skating purposes.)
A non-skating, adult, family member may join at the sponsor** rate as a 2nd member if the primary member is a skater e.g. Husband/wife, parent/child over 18 years etc.

Notes:
- Non-Resident members must live
at least 50 miles from the rink.
- Patron members are non-skaters
who who wish to help support the AFSC.
- Associate members are skaters
who have designated another USFSA Club as their "home club" but are
eligible to test at AFSC test sessions for a discounted fee.
- The Family membership is for
a family with 2 or more skaters, (sponsor/parents) are included in the
membership.
- The prorated (January to June) membership fee is for new members only (skaters who have never belonged to AFSC).
